The goal of IV sedation is to relax the patient and alleviate the anxiety associated with surgery.
Medication will be given intravenously in your arm or hand to help you relax and feel comfortable.
IV sedation puts you to sleep so you are unconscious during your dental treatment, causing you to have no recollection of it happening.
Once you wake up from the IV sedation, you will feel groggy, and it will take a while for the anesthesia to completely wear off. As a result, you should arrange for someone to take you home following your procedure.
